Hi, I'm trying to configure my two monitors the same way you did, Two days ago I finally made them two work as extended monitors but the problem was that they were showing in the same resolution (1280x800) and I would like to change the resolution of my external monitor (not the laptop's) to 1440x900. I'm playing now with the xorg.conf file, and I could achieve the resolution stuff, but now I can't drag any window between monitors and the mouse pointer looks funny (a colored big square) on the external monitor.

My xorg.conf file looks like this:
Section "ServerLayout"
	Identifier "Default Layout"
	Screen "aticonfig-Screen[0]" 0 0
	Screen "aticonfig-Screen[1]" leftOf "aticonfig-Screen[0]"
	InputDevice "Generic Keyboard"
	InputDevice "Configured Mouse"
	InputDevice "stylus" "SendCoreEvents"
	InputDevice "cursor" "SendCoreEvents"
	InputDevice "eraser" "SendCoreEvents"
	InputDevice "Synaptics Touchpad"
	#Option "Clone" "off"
EndSection

Have any clue of what is happening? Ideally I would like to have both monitors working with different resolutions and be able to drag the windows...

I appreciate if you can help me! Greetings
